QPS stands for Qmetrix Presence Detection and is our proven method for detecting the presence of people at defined positions. Typical applications are canteens, cafeterias, libraries or hot-desk office workstations.

A combination of 2 sensor types is used, PIR (passive infrared technology) for coarse detection and ToF (time of flight) distance measurement for actual presence measurement.

The QPS sensor is usually battery-operated and is mounted under a table/workstation. We have special sensor versions for desks with one central leg and desks with two or four legs.

The recorded data is sent by low-energy radio via a bridge using WiFi to a server, which processes the data and provides a graphical visualization via a website.
